Welcome

Welcome to Sue’s Crafting Capers — a cosy little corner where creativity, craftsmanship, and cherished memories come together.

My name is Sue Lockyear, and creativity has been at the heart of my life for many years. I first began my artistic journey as a ceramic artist, handcrafting fine bone china flowers for the well-known company Boehm of Malvern, where I spent over two decades perfecting delicate, handmade work.

Over the years my career took me through horticulture, landscape design, and later into health and social care, but my passion for creating by hand never disappeared. Eventually, I decided to take early retirement and return to what I truly love — crafting, sculpting, and creating unique handmade pieces full of personality and care.

Today, I work as a fibre artist, creating keepsake bears, sculptures, and handcrafted creations inspired by memories, nature, and the joy of handmade art. Many of my keepsake bears are lovingly created from treasured clothing, helping turn special fabrics into lasting memories for families to hold onto forever.

Sue’s Crafting Capers is a place to share my creations, celebrate handmade crafts, and hopefully inspire a little creativity along the way. Thank you for visiting — I hope you enjoy exploring my work as much as I enjoy creating it.
